β€œLabel Sandwiches, Not People”

In Greensboro, the breakfast crowd peaks on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so a weekday visit or an early arrival avoids the line. Across North Carolina, regional staples show up on the menu: biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles in the South, breakfast tacos and burritos in Texas and the Southwest, green chile in New Mexico, and Hawaiian plate breakfasts in the islands. Check the listing for hours, whether the restaurant takes reservations and its Google rating and reviews, and note that many diners are cash-friendly but nearly all take cards. Counter seating usually moves faster than a table for one or two.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–9 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (336) 273-5564. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, firstcarolinadeli.com.

We went here before a concert. They got slammed with concert goers shortly after we arrived, but the one server kept her cool. She was great and did her job well. My Italian sub was amazing as was the red skin potato salad. Everything was very authentic. I wish I lived closer so I could go back. Highly recommend!!!

It has a home feel, very cozy. It was our first time and we ordered a Italian sailor and steak cheese, both were very delicious and came out quickly. The original cheesecake was very creamy and delicious. We will definitely be coming back. The server Mary was soooooo friendly, attentive, and kind. We loved it

I have been going there for years and my sandwich is always πŸ’― consistent. You can count on whatever you like to always be delicious and exactly the same. UnLike places where you have to catch the right crew working to get good food. Staff always friendly, same warm deli atmosphere it has been. Highly recommend

I took my friend out to eat lunch and we chose First Carolina Delicatessen because other reviewers had indicated that the club sandwich was good. The first thing I noticed was the vibe of the place. Everyone, I mean everyone, who worked there was helpful, friendly, and smiling. My friend got the club sandwich, and I got the "Italian Sailor" sandwich, both coming with ruffled potato chips and a dill pickle spear. Both our sandwiches were delicious and toasted to perfection. We asked our server about the dessert selections and were surprised to find there were lots more things available than were even listed on the menu. My friend got a snickerdoodle cookie and I got the "Magic bar," both of which were delicious. The atmosphere is busy, but pleasant, the ideal mix of a small cafe and a deli. There were comfortable tables, booths and some covered outdoor tables and seats. We were very pleased with the quality and pricing of the food and plan to return!
